The EPICENTER works to empower people, strengthen families, & build a sense of community and trust in Edgewood. It provides a place for kids and adults to grow and learn, and to serve and give back, developing leaders for today as well as tomorrow. Programming in the following 4 areas creates a dynamic presence in Edgewood: Children & Youth, Life Skills, Recovery, and Health & Wellness. Youth Adults Recovery Health & Wellness



6 WEEK SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM (June 25th – Aug. 3rd)

Extended Camp Available  (August 6th – August 17th for additional Cost)

Ages 5–14

7:30–5:30 Monday–Friday

Breakfast & Lunch served daily.

Cost: $627

Registration Fee $50

Weekly field trips, math, reading, science, art, dance/drama, sports & Bible basics. Something for all ages

LEADER-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM: open for ages 15–16 (only 5 positions available)

Open Enrollment Dates:

April 7st 10AM–12PM

Week Day registration starting March 13th thru May 1st every Tuesday and Thursday 5PM-7PM

Payment arrangements available based on sign up date. Camp must be paid in full by May 1st to secure your spot.

Come in and enjoy a comfortable environment while getting your work done or searching the web. Help with using computers, filling out forms, and creating resumes will also be available.

The EPICENTER is pleased to offer the basketball gym for members of the community to play during the day. Register and sign a liability form in person at The EPICENTER during posted Open Gym hours.

Time: The 1st and 3rd Monday of every month from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (on a drop-in basis)

Purpose: Providing job seekers with tools, resources, and support that leads to successful employment

Focus Areas: Resume Skills, Interview Skills, Vocational Planning, Overcoming Roadblocks, Elevator Speech, Job Searching, Job Application Processing, Networking, Peer Support, and Information Sharing

Need a job? Jobs for Life can provide you the skills you need to get a job. Through this training, men and women develop character and become connected to a community of support. They will learn to obtain more than just a job as they experience a life filled with confidence, self-control, coaching, learning, and faith. Invest in yourself for the future…Enroll now!

Understanding Children and Navigating Parenthood

Thursdays 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm (Start Date TBA )


This program is Free to the community along with free childcare for  participants.


This program is for men and women interested in creating stronger relationships and better environments for their children.  Learn how to develop a stronger relationship with your child, learn about positive discipline approaches that can help change that relationship, and learn about the various stages of a child’s development.  If you are not a parent but plan to be someday this program is also for you.

Thursdays, 7:30pm – 8:30pm

Alcoholics Anonymous® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.


Fridays, 7-8:00pm

Narcotics Anonymous atmosphere provides help from peers and offers an ongoing support network for addicts who wish to pursue and maintain a drug-free lifestyle.



Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 pm
Al-Anon is for anyone who has been affected by alcoholism. If you are concerned about someone else’s drinking, the Al-Anon program can offer help


Health & Wellness



2nd Friday of the month, 2-5pm

The EPICENTER partners with Tabitha’s House and the Maryland Food Bank to give away over 7,000 pounds of food each month to those who need it. In addition, several healthcare services are offered, such as free Chiropractic care, dental care, screenings, and many more.




Saturdays 9:30am

The EPICENTER is pleased to host EveryDaie Fitness, featuring certified instructor Daie Henry. Not a dancer but LOVE listening to sounds while busting out some serious cardio?  With its plateau proof formula, this class is designed to give you the most bang for your workout.  New to working out? No Problem! Modifications are shown so that YOU can work at your level! Just bring a towel, a mat, and LOTS of water!

Cost: $3 per class.

Tuesdays 6:30pm

The EPICENTER is pleased to host EveryDaie Fitness Zumba, featuring certified instructor Daie Henry. New to working out? Need some extra Spice in your workout? Then Zumba(r) Fitness is for you!!! You can lose weight and Feel great by dancing to the hottest International songs. Great for ALL fitness levels!!! No dance experience needs! Just be ready to have FUN!

Cost: $40 for the 10-week session. OR $5 per class.

Tuesdays and Fridays 7:30 pm – 9:30 pmimg_3383


The initiation fee is $60, which covers the annual registration fee and the first examination. After that, the annual organizational registration fee is $30. The monthly membership fee is $40, which allows that student to train at any and all regularly scheduled classes. Scholarships to cover part or all of the monthly training fee.


The Karate program is part of an internationally recognized organization, called JAPAN KARATE-DO RYOBU-KAI (JKR), a traditional Japanese karate organization. JKR is one of the six original karate organization in Japan. More information about JKR is available at the official JKR Web Site: The classes are taught by certified black belt members of JKR. The training program includes strikes, kicks, throws, takedowns, joint-lock techniques, as well as traditional Okinawan weapons. The level of technical difficulty is graduated. The students will learn only those techniques that are appropriate for the students’ proficiency level. Currently, the age restriction for these classes are set at 13 years and older.
